Storm Update: Tornado Watch Issued For These NY Counties

As thunderstorms, some severe, sweep through the region, a Tornado Watch has now been issued for parts of New York.

The Tornado Watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 in the counties shown in yellow.

  • Cayuga
  • Chautauqua
  • Chemung
  • Chenango
  • Cortland
  • Delaware
  • Livingston
  • Madison
  • Oneida
  • Onondaga
  • Ontario
  • Oswego
  • Otsego
  • Schuyler
  • Seneca
  • Steuben
  • Sullivan
  • Tioga
  • Tompkins
  • Wayne 
  • Yates

The time frame for the most severe storms from the system began at 5 p.m. and will last through around 9 p.m. Saturday.
